Faith Formation K to 6
Elementary Age Faith Formation
The Faith Formation program assists parents in their baptismal commitment to raise their children as active members of the Catholic Church.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word – A weekly practice at the 11:00am mass of dismissing our young children to the parish hall to hear the Word of God proclaimed at their age level. Historically and liturgically, it is part of the Mass. It is not considered to be Faith Formation, in the formal sense. Adults are invited to come forward to share their time, talent and faith to lead these weekly 10-15 minute sessions.
Faith Formation – Classes are offered weekly, Sundays at 9:45am or Mondays at 4:30pm, by our volunteer catechists who are committed to helping parents form their young children in the ways and teaching of Jesus Christ.
Lev el K - Designed to make children aware of God’s love, appreciate their own uniqueness and to sense God’s presence around them.
Levels 1 & 2 – A 2-yr preparation to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.
Level 3 – The focus of this year’s study is faith, the belief and trust in God. Children become familiar with the mysteries in our faith we profess through the Apostles’ Creed. They experience the Old and New Testament and God’s love for his people.
Level 4 – Children learn through the commandments and the Beatitudes how God calls us to live with him forever. They are lead to a greater appreciation of God’s gifts and calling to live in the spirit of love.
Level 5 – The meaning of worshiping God in community is the focus of this year. The worship of God includes prayer and service. They learn to participate more fully before moving into preparation for Confirmation.
Level 6 - Continues the meaning of worshiping God in community is the focus of this year. The worship of God includes prayer and service. They learn to participate more fully before moving into preparation for Confirmation.
Vacation Bible Camp/School – This dynamic week-long outreach program is a fun-filled faith based way to connect our children with their Catholic community.
